Savory Melted Butter Air Fryer Hand Pie

Looking for something different for lunch, how about a savory hand pie!

THE BACKSTORY

I have been working for a while to "master" hand pies. I have been craving a baking fix, but the temperatures have been too high to want to turn on the oven. Glancing at my air fryer (a new-ish unplanned acquisition) and America's Test Kitchen Baking for Two tips on baking in an air fryer, I made a plan for my baking fix. This was good, except it was very close to lunchtime and the thought of waiting for resting dough just seemed too long. Here's where the melted butter dough comes in.

THE BAKE

Melted butter dough does not require resting nor chilling, it is intended to be used immediately. The result will be more of a crumb and less of a flake if that matters for your dish. The bake time will vary depending on your air fryer. The first hand pie was baked for 28 minutes at 300 degrees F. The bottom was not quite a sagging bottom but still pale. The second hand pie was baked for 28 minutes at 310 degrees F  and less pale, less sagging bottom. It could stand to bake longer still.

THE RESULT

O-M-G very good, easy and quick.

WILL I MAKE IT AGAIN

Definitely! Plan to make a sweet hand pie using the King Arthur Baking version of melted butter pie dough that has a touch of cinnamon. A good quick go-to for hot days and time is short.
